“Woodla” is a lacing toy composed by a wooden figure, two burel dressing sets (each with front and back) and a cotton cord. Inspired by the fantastic world of fables, the figure in animal's clothing is the main character of all time stories and new adventures.
Lacing toys are the best instruments to develop eye-hand coordination and fine motor skills. Lacing is one of the important every day life manipulative skills that requires concentration and manual dexterity.
In addition, the "Woodla"is also a challenge to create unique clothes or characters using various materials such as felt, cardboard, EVA (ethylene vinyl acetate) or fabric.
Materials
European sycamore wood (acer pseudoplatanus) (PEFC - certified), wood is unfinished.
Burel fabric (100% wool portuguese handmade fabric) from Burel Factory.
100% cotton cord.
Wood and burel are fully biodegradable, renewable and recyclable materials. The sycamore tree is originally from Europe, where it has been cultivated for centuries, attracting bees, butterflies, birds and small mammals. Burel is an artisanal fabric made entirely from Serra da Estrela (mountain region of Portugal) sheep's wool, where it is produced as result of the art and know-how of the local village weavers.
Please note
Because wood is a natural material it has a non-uniform appearance (veins, knots and other marks) and it may present different white/grey and yellow/golden shades. Therefore, wooden products may present slight variations when compared to the ones on the pictures.
